Pictures of the Abbey
I promised that I would post pictures of my absolute favorite church, The Melk Abbey Church.
Here you see a picture of the alter. The colors are rich with the gold accents. However, you will notice that the mood changes depending on the amount of light or time of day.
This photo is showing part of the painted ceiling. Notice the difference from the first picture. There is more depth.
This is one of my favorite photos. As I sat in this church, I could have sat for hours on end just gazing at the ceiling. Absolutely gorgeous!
This photo is very dark. The picture must have been taken later in the day. You can see the detail in the alter.
I didn't include any pictures of the outside. It isn't that impressive. Austria... a beautiful country. Very scenic and the origin of "Mozart Balls." What's not to love?
