Is there such thing as stolen violas?

I was looking at viola stuff on the American viola society website and came across something that made me laugh soooooooooooooooooooooooo hard.....Titled: Stolen Violas. Ok, first of all, is this even possible? A viola being stolen...haha Ok bad viola joke. Seriously, the guy who stole the viola got 8 years of prison time. Again, should the guy be rewarded or punished? And remember, finding stolen violas is a lot like "adult hide and seek." Wow...no wonder they make fun of violists!
