I bought this interesting book on Michelangelo today. It has many of his works with detailed description and quite a bit of history. It brings back memories of my trip to Italy. It's kinda cool that I know some history that isn't in that book. I also got an art book with many works by Mary Cassatt. She was an American female artist who is categorized as part of the French Impressionists. I believe that I should have been Italian. I just love the art and culture. Everything about it seems to appeal to me. Cassatt began as realist in the italian tradition, but then later transitioned into Impressionism. I'm not too fond of the Impressionist era, but some of the works catch my attention. One day, I will roam the streets of Florence, wander through the galaries where such master pieces are kept! Take me back, take me back!!!
