childhood obessions
Man! I just typed an entire post and it was erased. Damnit!
I was talking about my obsession as a child. I always loved to play dress up and I made the animals dress up too! It was very sad, really. I would dress my old siamese cat up in baby dresses and cart her around in my baby buggy, then watch her try to walk around. I was so mean! She didn't care though. She was so affectionate to me. Then I would put cute little doggy sweaters on the dachound (sp.?). I think Oscar liked the sweaters though. Yes, you read that right. We named the wiener dog Oscar. Today after work, I went to Walmart to pick up a few things with a friend and I stumbled across the most precious little outfit for my nephew. It had a dress shirt, slacks and the most adorable sweater vest. I was so damn excited about dressing this kid up for Christmas I had to call my mom just to make sure I got the right size. Well, she then told me that he had too man clothes and I should invest in just a sweater for him. Damn.....Oh well.
After we left Walmart, I treated myself to a few new things I bought a few long sleeve shirts and a skirt. Not too sure if I will keep that skirt though. I think I might want to invest in another pair of shoes instead.....I'm running out of space for them though. My shoe rack that holds thirty pairs is already full, I have about 6 pairs by the door and about 10 more in the chest in the closet. Ok, I think I just talked myself out of buying more shoes. I don't need them. I was told that I must take all of my purses from home this christmas or they will be thrown out. Ok, now you must understand. I have a purse collection. I have small ones, large ones, fancy ones, casual ones. My shoe collection is nothing compared to my purse collection. I have acquired my purses over the past 10 years. I bought many of them at thrift stores because I like antique purses. I think the number is somewhere near the 80s. Now, the problem with having so many purses is not the number, but whether or not I switch them all of the time. You see, I am forgetful. I will put my stuff in one purse and switch about 10 times, then go back to look for something that I forgot only to find out I can't remember what purses I've used.....that is when I curse at myself while looking through all of them, all the while saying that I will only use one purse for the next 20 years. Who knows where I'm gonna keep all of them, but I'm sure as hell not going to throw them out!
I just discovered that I own Bartok's String Quartet No.2 on cd and I have the sheet music. Woohoo! Maybe I'm a dork but sometimes I play through some chamber music with the recording just for fun. Time to fiddle around.
