WHEW......is it over?
What a holiday! I can't believe it is all over with. It seems everything has happened in the past 7 days.
My week started off with much preparation. I baked lots of goods, bought a few presents, work a little, partied a little and drank a lot. My weekend started on Christmas Eve. I flew out of Burbank because I will never do the craziness of LAX ever again. It was pretty low key....I got there in plenty of time to check the luggage, relax and read a little. Then I hear that our pilot didn't show up. So, we had to take the next flight out of there. So we board the next plane. I make my phone calls and tell them I am and hour and a half late. We are all set to go. We get out on the run way and the plane malfunctions..........GREAT! So we go back to the gate, get off of the plane and walk to another gate where we all boarded a new plane....two and a half hours after we were suppose to leave, we finally take off. I couldn't believe it. I could have driven home and back in the amount of time that I sat at the airport. My trip home was also delayed quite a bit too......not much fun traveling during the holidays that is for sure!
Home was the same. I have the most adorable nephew who wore me out. It is nice to visit, but again I must stress that this woman is not having kids any time soon. Holy crap they are a handful. It was pretty humorous though. He learned how to say CAT and THAT. While we were in church he points to the cross and says "CAT." It was hard not to laugh, but I did correct him. My mom says he takes after his aunt Jennifer because he loves purses and shoes...he learned how to put my shoes on and walk in them. Then he grabbed a few of my purses and held one on each arm. What a silly kid.
I spent quite a bit of time with the family....maybe that is why I became so stressed out. It is certainly a good thing that I am back in town.
So for my birthday, I have decided I'm going to splurg and buy tickets to see the NY Philharmonic. I've got a little bit of money saved, so what the hay. I'm just gonna do it! Live my dream....travel and find out what i like and where would be the best place for me. There are a few concerts i would like to see and I'm still debating. One concert that looks appetizing is Rostropovich conducting Prokofiev and Shostakovich. Another concert that would be good is Tch. 2....known as the "little Russian." They are also playing Rach. Piano concerto No.2....how can you go wrong with that concert? I performed the "Little Russian" a while back and it is certainly a good piece, of course it doesn't come close in comparison to symphony No. 6. I'm very excited. This is my first trip I've ever really planned by myself that doesn't include family or anyone else. I checked out Chicago's season also, but it doesn't look as interesting. Nothing over the top, which is of course the reason why you would go to hear them. I don't know...I'm still debating. I've got some time. This is definately going to be my year though!
New Year's Eve is coming up. Yet another reason to party. There seem to be quite a few parties going on. It is strange, I've never really gone out on New Years Eve. Usually I am in nor cal visiting family and we just watch movies and drink sparkling cider. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just not use to having the evening free to do whatever.

I'm sure (that most child-rearing literature will agree with me as well) that dressing up a 15 month year old baby BOY in girls' high heels and purses is NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!
