traits
Everyone knows the difficulties I've had with my mother. One thing is for sure though, I am very much like her and at the same time, very different. She said to me today, "I DO THINK I INSTILLED SOME TRAITS, AND U R STRONGER AT THEM THAN ME. AT LEAST U WILL NEVER BE A DOOR MAT LIKE I WAS." It was very touching. We have different signs though...I'm an aries and much more stubborn than she. She is a taurus... which means we have different traits. I would be happy to have many similarities as my mother...someone who is giving and has unconditional love. But to know that I am strong and don't take any bullshit (which she has difficulty with). I don't want to be co-dependant tendencies and would like to be an individual who relies on herself.

Funny... sometimes I see people who want to be independent and not rely on anyone having the other trait of 'not willing to let anyone in.' A friend of mine (whose really more of an acquaintance now) believes that he shouldn't tell his friends what's going in his life. That it's up to him and him only. He feels it's wrong to tell people about the stuff that's bothering him. This same person will tell you he values friendships. How can this be so, if your friends don't know what the hell's going on in your life? Sometimes I just don't get people....
